Walk the path of Streatham's Saints and Sinners
A new self-guided walking tour around Streatham mixes "intense High Road action with the quieter, quirkier backwaters".
As part of this year's Streatham Festival, the Saints and Sinners Walk takes in more than twenty spots of historical interest and curiosity over a four mile stroll around Streatham.
Starting at St Leonard's church, the hour long walk includes houses, gardens, churches, tunnels, significant roads and more as well as the local homes of celebrities and other people of note.
Extensive details are provided for each point of interest and there are links to online sources of further information.
The walk is a fun and fascinating tour of the southern part of Streatham and a great reminder of some of its characters both past and present.
Download the map in PDF format and take it with you on your phone or tablet as you make your way along the walk.
If you're not up for the complete walk, there's a shorter alternative with detours. Or just dip in at the points that interest you. As for me, I'm off to check out Cynthia Payne's gaff.
