A new gallery for Crystal Palace
A new art gallery from contemporary painter Tom Cox opens in Crystal Palace next week.
The gallery launches with a Spring Exhibition that includes Tom's latest works as well as pieces from eight other London-based artists. It promises to be a diverse selection of styles from Impressionism and pop-art, to abstract expressionism.
During the pandemic, Tom doubled down on his painting practice and expanded his online business. The resulting sales helped fund this new space on “the Triangle”, Crystal Palace’s three connected main roads.
After five years of organising pop-up exhibitions across the capital, Tom's gallery will be a permanent location and have a striking presence amongst a thriving community of independent, creative businesses.
“After developing so much of my career through pop-ups and on social media I feel energised to be at this new milestone. Aside from using the space as a showroom for my art, the space will be used to celebrate fantastic contemporary artists and nurture emerging talent. There will be music playing, when the time is right there will be drinks, and always, a welcoming atmosphere to the public.”
The inaugural Spring Exhibition runs from April 12 to May 9 at 38 Church Road, London, SE19 2ET.
