Croydon rapper Stormzy to be celebrated in new tv and radio specials
The BBC has announced a range of TV and radio specials about Stormzy during November.
A 45-minute TV programme titled A Stormzy Special sees the artist in conversation with DJ Trevor Nelson and performing a live set from the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. It airs on BBC One and iPlayer on November 15 at 10:40pm GMT.
Meanwhile, the Croydon rapper's new track "Firebabe" has just been released with an official video directed by Edem Wornoo.
In addition, Stormzy’s next song ‘Holy Spirit’ is set to premiere on BBC Radio 1 at 8:10am on the same day as the tv special. Both Radio 2 and 1Xtra’s breakfast shows will broadcast performances that have been recorded exclusively for the BBC.
Later that same day, Radio 1’s Future Sounds will feature a never-before-heard interview with Stormzy and Clara Amfo plus tracks performed at Abbey Road.
And if that wasn't exciting enough, fans will also be able to access yet more content that charts Stormzy’s meteoric rise through the "Artist Icons" section on the BBC Sounds website.
