The Purley Literary Society, affectionately known as 'Purley Lit,' started in 1901.
It has being running continuously except for the war years - and the recent pandemic. The 2022 - 2023 season is our 109th programme.
The Society engages guest speakers to present talks on a variety of topics, usually illustrated.
The latest season of illustrated talks begins on Tuesday 11th Oct with "Atmospheric and Pneumatic Railways of the Victorian Era" presented by Andy Theobald.
When does the Purley Literary Society meet?
Meetings are held fortnightly on Tuesdays at 8pm from October to March, and last about an hour, followed by questions and answers.
