Turtle Bay Croydon Announces Reopening Date

Turtle Bay Croydon is back, better than ever and will be opening its doors again to the local community on Friday 26th November.

The Caribbean restaurant and bar situated at 16 High Street is currently undergoing a major transformation and new manager Donnie Julian is ready to welcome customers back to the restaurant.

Having been closed since the pandemic, Turtle Bay Croydon is now getting some serious TLC, as the team are busy creating a fresh, new-look restaurant ready to bring Caribbean good times back to the Croydon high street. The restaurant’s trademark beach-shack inspired interior will be given a whole new look and feel with updated colourways, brand new eclectic artwork and natural materials all adding to the laid back, social experience.

Barbados-born, South London resident Donnie has worked in hospitality for over 30 years and has been busy behind the scenes recruiting a stellar new team of 40. There are a few positions still available and Donnie is always looking for talented people to join the team so any budding bar tenders, chefs or team members should apply here.

Donnie commented:
“It is a privilege to be part of the Turtle Bay family and begin my journey in Croydon with an amazing team who I know will become like family.  The reopening has been a long time coming, so we’re working hard to make sure this is an extra special new restaurant for the Croydon community. Turtle Bay is going to look and feel quite different from how customers will remember it - it’s a bit more chilled and really beautifully designed…  All will be revealed soon! It’s been a challenging 18 months for the hospitality industry and so we are just super excited to be back doing what we love: providing fantastic service, food, and drink to all of our customers at Turtle Bay.”

The Bay’s killer combo of rum, reggae and jerk is back on the menu in Croydon to brighten up the chilly months ahead. The restaurant’s all day food menu boasts a wide selection of Caribbean soul food and grazing options from their island-inspired breakfast dishes (served up from 10am) to the Jerk Pit BBQ; comforting curries to clean-eating inspired Buddha Bowls; plus an excellent range of burgers, small plates and sides.

There’s also some brand new cocktails to try, and rum connoisseurs won’t be disappointed, with Turtle Bay’s huge collection showcased throughout the new menu, creating a wealth of ways to enjoy the Bay’s trademark spirit - from white to dark, coconut to spiced. The team have revealed some fruity new twists on favourites including a Pineapple Daiquiri (with Jamaica Cove Pineapple Rum & triple sec, fresh lime & pineapple); the Coconut and Grapefruit Mojito (with Koko Kanu & white rum, fresh coconut, mint, lime & grapefruit); and the Spiced Julep, (with Duppy Share Spiced Rum & tequila, fresh lime, mint, apple & ginger beer).

All of these and the Turtle Bay classics are included in the famed Happy Hour -  where all of the restaurant’s tropical cocktails are available as 241 from 10am - 7pm daily, and again from 9:30pm during the week and 10pm at weekends right up until close.

Turtle Bay’s famous Bottomless Brunch will be making its return to Croydon  this November too. Running every single day from 10am to last sittings at 3pm (5pm on Sundays), it’s a two-hour long Caribbean cocktail and brunching experience  - a sunshine-filled catch up event like no other including unlimited tropical cocktails, mocktails, Red Stripe or prosecco all to a soundtrack of laid back reggae beats. Bottomless Brunch includes any brunch dish - from Big Kingston Grill Down (the Bay’s Caribbean twist on a full English), to the Vegan Yardbird all for £29.50 per person. It can be upgraded to include any main course dish for £33.30.
